

Lillian was born on February 20, 1921 in Catawba County. to the late Fletcher Lyles and Cordie Ella Dellinger Holland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Ward, three sisters and five brothers.
Lillian was a member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church and retired from Ward Hosiery.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley.
Surviving are two daughters; Elizabeth Chambers of Hickory, Jackie Franks of Hickory, two sons, Harvey Lyles Ward and wife Janie of Hickory, Richard “Rick” Ward and wife Becky of Hickory, three granddaughters, Beth Heaton and husband Mike of Hickory, Melissa Miller and husband Anthony of Hickory, Natalie Kincaid and husband Nick of Hickory, three grandsons, Tommy Hefner and wife Beverly, of Sevierville TN, Scott Crider and wife Ellen of Hickory, Nathan Ward of Concord, NC, three great granddaughters, Michelle Hefner of Newton, Makayla Heaton of Hickory, Emma Crider of hickory, one sister, Colleen Parker of Hildebran a special niece, Kay Weaver of Hildebran, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 2:00 P. M. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with the Reverend Al Mullen officiating
Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday January 24, 2011 from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hickory Funeral Home
Pallbearers will be; Tommy Hefner, Scott Crider, Nathan Ward, Anthony Miller, Mike Heaton and Jason Fleming.
