Lola Frances Townsend

Lola was born December 8, 1921 in Watauga County to the late Noah Townsend and Sarah Barger Townsend. In addition to her she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Ada Punch, Andrew Townsend, Earl Townsend, Margaret Hefner, niece, Mary Lou Townsend, and a nephew Lewis Townsend.

She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church ELCA, where she was a lifetime member and a Sunday School Teacher. She had worked for Hickory Springs.

Surviving are her nieces Brenda Sluder and her husband Gene, Linda Keller and Joyce Coffey, all of Hickory, sister in law Virginia Townsend of Durham, nephews, Clyde Townsend, Paul Townsend and Martin Townsend, nieces Libby Kurz, Margarita Throope, Sarah Townsend and Becky Townsend

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 A. M. at the church.

The funeral service will be Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 11:00 A. M. at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, ELCA, with Reverend Richard Hites officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
