

HICKORY – Lucille Frazier Sanders, 91 of Hickory passed away on January 17, 2018 at Frye Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Born on April 21, 1926 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late David Earlie and Maude Lundy Frazier. Lucille was a long time member of Hickory Chapter 155 of the Eastern Star and volunteered at Catawba Regional Hospice for many years. She was an active member of Hildebran United Methodist Church and supported the mission to Broughton Hospital by supplying homemade cakes for decades. Lucille enjoyed her daily trips to Aldi’s, spending time with her grandbabies and great-grandbabies, crocheting, and interacting with friends on her Facebook account.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Huitt Sanders and a brother, Worth Frazier.
Survivors include her children, Denise S. Harper and husband, Doug of Newton; Johnny B. Sanders and wife Cindy of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Michelle Gilmore and husband, Brad of Newton, Erica Long and husband, Josh of Hickory, Rachel Sanders of Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Allie and Harper Gilmore, Colton and Skylar Long; sisters, Elizabeth Henderson of Harmony, Lola B. Frazier of Harmony; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 4 PM at Hildebran United Methodist Church with Pastor Tony Bowman and Pastor Paul Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-4 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hildebran United Methodist Church, PO Box 550, Hildebran, NC 28637.
