Born in Catawba County on March 29, 1955, he was the son of the late O. Rhyne “Rudy” and Helen Fox Rudisill. Luther graduated from Hildebran High School and received an Associate’s Degree from CVCC in Auto Mechanics. He grew up attending Bethany Lutheran Church in Hickory, NC where he also married the love of his life, Cindy. He was a big Nascar fan in the 90s, loved listening to Beach music, and he loved watching classics like Matlock, Andy Griffith, and Home Improvement. His pride and joy were his grandchildren…they were a big piece of his heart. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Martha “Marty” Rudisill, Joyce Robbins and husband Larry, and nephew Jeffrey Robbins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cindy Heffinger Rudisill; daughters Amber Walker and husband Hunter of Raleigh, and Katie Kirkland and husband Rocky of Hickory; grandchildren Parilee Walker, Sutton Walker, Millie Walker, Aaron Kirkland, and Kailynn Kirkland; nephew David Robbins; brothers-in-law, Kenny Heffinger, Wayne Heffinger and wife Tona, Terry Heffinger and wife Diane, Jeff Heffinger and wife Joy, and Wesley Heffinger. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
