Margaret "Maggie" (Teague) Bolick

Margaret “Maggie” Teague Bolick of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Carolina Caring Hospice. She was born June 18, 1934 in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, to Reverend Loyd W. Teague and Avarie Martin Teague and was a graduate of Granite Falls High School (Class of 1951) and Lenoir Rhyne College (Class of 1955), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She taught high school English for one year and then transitioned to the Social Security Administration, which she left in 1963 to become a full-time mother and homemaker. Maggie was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Hickory, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Willis Teague, and her older sisters Catherine Edwards, Helen Sawyer, Miriam Lewis, and Dorcas Teague.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 67 years, Neil O. Bolick of Hickory; her son, Thomas N. Bolick of Arlington, Virginia; her younger sister, Reverend Marietta Smith of Lenoir; her younger brother, Dr. David Teague, Sr. of Hendersonville; and numerous of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at Augustana Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Hickory, North Carolina, with Pastor D.M. Kerns officiating. The family will receive friends at Augustana prior to the service, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.

Burial will follow at church cemetery.
