

HICKORY---Marian Rebeka Huffman Berry, 88, passed away July 2, 2017, at Kingston Residence after a period of declining health. Marian was born July 11, 1928, in Catawba County to the late Franklin Andrew Marion Huffman and Bertie Honeycutt Huffman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Walter Berry. Marian was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University, and she worked as a medical technologist at Frye Regional Medical Center; she was also a lifelong member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod. She is survived by her son, Steven Berry and wife, Kathleen, of Denver, CO; daughter, Rita Sipe and husband, Keith, of Denver, NC; grandsons, Brandon Sipe and wife, Kala, of Lincolnton and Justin Berry of Lafayette, LA; granddaughter, Courtney Sipe Deskus and husband, Curtis, of Iron Station; great -grandsons, Eli Sipe and Garrett Sipe of Lincolnton; great granddaughters, Kaitlyn Sipe of Lincolnton and Lydia Deskus and Lyla Deskus both of Iron Station: sister-in-law Jean Green of High Point and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 2:30 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo Synod with Reverend Dave Guelzow and Reverend David Ziehr officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo Synod.
