Martha Leona (Wall) Wallace

She was born on July 29, 1938 to the late Orie Glenn Wall Sr. and Rosa Lee Grady Wall in Burke County. Martha was part owner of Stout Hut in Hildebran for 25 years before her career with CVCC as a receptionist and parking security.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Hartwell Wallace Sr. of Hickory and Henderson; Betty Carolyn Wall Mickel of Hickory, Billie Jean Wall Rhyne (Bobby Devon Rhyne) of Raleigh; brother, Orie Glenn Wall Jr. (Elaine Fleming Wall) of Raleigh; nephew, Daniel Lynn Rhyne of Hickory; loving aunt and cousin, Annie Dale and Patricia Dale Bailey of Morganton; and special pets, Amber and Penny, her perfect little dogs; and Cricket, her perfect little cat.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Beth Munday Parker of Newton; son, James Hartwell Wallace Jr. and wife Marsha of Henderson; grandchildren, Jennifer Hall and husband Brian of Lenoir, Jeremy Chester and wife Talesia of Conover, Jesse Sigmon of Hickory, Josh Boyd of Henderson, Cindy Boyd of Henderson; great grandchildren, Andrew Chester of Hickory, Cheyenne Wilcox of Hickory, Alejandro Chester of Hickory, Adam Chester Lenoir, Abril Bradley Granite Falls, Isaiaha Bradley Granite Falls, Arturo Ramirez of Lenoir, Harley Bentley of Lenoir, Matthew Hall of Lenoir; great great-grandchildren, Hazel Hall of Lenoir, Scarlett Hall of Lenoir, Viper Angeles of Hickory; special unique and fun loving niece and nephew, Kelly and Terry Powell of Knightdale; special friends, Eddie Marlow, Peggy Isenhour and Sadie White and husband Bob; and her perfect little cat, Orie.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Abernethy Laurels that took great care of Ms. Wallace while she was there.
