Mary V Richey

TAYLORSVILLE---Mary V Richey 89, of Hickory passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Trinity Ridge following a period of declining health. Mary was born February 25, 1925 in Alexander County to the late Plumer and Ida Yount Richey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 4 sisters; 3 brothers; a step grandson Brian Pagan and her son-in-law Dan Avnet. She is survived by her daughters Gaynelle Pagan and husband Jimmie of Wilmington, NC, Libby Kelso and her husband Ed of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Betty Avnet of Hickory; grandchildren Sara Mendoza, Hope Marshall, D. J. Marshall, Marianne Blanton, and Freddie Lesser; step-grandson Scott Pagan; and great grandchildren Greyson Marshall, Cade Lesser, and Jeff Lesser; sisters Lela Annas , Ethel Broyhill, and Naomi Newton; her brothers Johnson Richey and David Richey. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, December 1, 2014 at 1:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home with Reverend Earnest Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
