Ms. Mary Louise Shook Roberts

MARY SHOOK ROBERTS CONOVER – Mary Shook Roberts, 87 of Conover went home to be with her Lord on November 19, 2017. She was born on May 29, 1930 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Ross Walter and Catherine Bolick Shook. Mary retired from Vanguard Furniture and then worked for the Hickory Walmart as a greeter for fourteen years, where she never met a stranger. She was an avid gardener who loved her flowers. Mary was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Conover. Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Myrtle Wilkinson, brother, Troy Shook, and children’s father, Guy H. Roberts. Survivors include her sons, Terry Roberts and wife Debbie of Connelly Springs, Alan Roberts and wife Beverly of Claremont, Keith Roberts of Conover; grandchildren, Sherri Sexton, Brandon Roberts, Hannah Roberts, Nichole Caskaddon, Faith Roberts, Grace Roberts; great-grandchildren, Noah Sexton, Ty Roberts, Cory Roberts, Mason Caskaddon, Chloe Caskaddon, Paisley Caskaddon, Ethan Caskaddon; niece, Becky Sain; and her special friend, Homer Self. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 1 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Edwin Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Baptist Church in Conover.
