Minnie F. Lail

HICKORY—Minnie Fortenberry Lail, 88, Our loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother ,and friend went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 25, 2011,at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley following a period of declining health.

Minnie was born April 21, 1923 in Burke County to the late Jesse Clem and Nora Jane Bradshaw Fortenberry .

Minnie was a member of Wilkies Grove Baptist and retired from JP Stevens .

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde C. Lowman who passed away in 1977 and four sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are her husband, Carl Henry Lail of the home, two daughters; Peggy Bostain and husband, Roger, Sherry Stilwell and husband, Steve of Hickory , , two sons; Conley Lowman and wife, Becky of Hickory, Jeffrey Lowman and wife , Terry of Hickory, five step-daughters, Carolyn Mann and husband Gary of Taylorsville, Phyllis Hood and husband, Bryan of Vale, Ruth Weaver and husband, Mike of Newton, Rebecca Moffett of Kernersville, Carla Lail of Hickory, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, fourteen step-grandchildren, twenty eight step-great grandchildren, and a brother Jessie Fortenberry and wife, Mavis of Hickory .

Funeral services will be Friday, May 27th 2011, at 4:00 P. M. at Wilkies Grove Baptist Church with the Reverends Terry Adkins and Ray Raymer officiating.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday May, 26th 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M. at Wilkies Grove Baptist Church.
