Miriam Anne Ellis Benson

Miriam “Anne” Ellis Benson, 78, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on May 5, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Born July 28, 1937 in Clayton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Elton Willard Ellis and Miriam Brady Ellis. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Knightdale, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leamon “Squeezer” Benson.

Anne is survived by a son, Bud Benson of Raleigh; daughters, Ruth Anne Everett and husband, Mike of Hickory, Miriam Vannoy and husband Robbie of Spartanburg, SC and Amy Benson of Santa Barbara, CA; grandchildren, Brady Vannoy, Natalie Howkins, Emily Vannoy, Erin Vannoy, Adam Everett, Abby Benson, Robbie Goodell and Russell Goodell; 3 great-grandsons, Rob, Jack and Sam; sister, Susan Yamakawa and brother, Elton Ellis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Knightdale, NC, with Rev. George Fox officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
