Nell Cox, 95 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at Trinity Village surrounded by her family.
Born on December 10th, 1928 in Greenville County, SC, Nell was the daughter of the late William Pack and Edna Johnson Cox. Nell retired from the Spainhour Company after more than 40 years of devoted service.
In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening and took much pride in her yard. She also loved traveling, needle point and cooking for her family. Nell was loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Sarah Cox, Margaret Cox and Martha Vohs, as well as, a brother-in-law, Glenn Vohs and a niece-in-law, Tammy Vohs.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her brother, William P. Cox, Jr.; 3 nieces, Michelle Presnell and husband, Jimmy, Nicole Lewis and husband, Jason and Cindy Maaske and husband, Bill; a nephew, Greg Vohs; 4 great nephews, Logan Lewis, Luke Lewis and wife, Hayley, Kirk Vohs and Tom Maaske; 4 great nieces, Megan Christensen and husband, Ron, Mandy Gehlbach, and husband, Paul, Ally Utecht and husband, Tim, and Holly Eremon and husband, Natidao; 7 great-great nieces, Elaine Christensen, Celia Christensen, Olivia Lewis, Evelyn Gehlbach, Adelaide Utecht, Amara Eremon and Zuri Eremon; 4 great-great nephews, Jax Vohs, Henry Gehlbach, James Gehlbach and Theo Utecht.
A Graveside Service will be scheduled at Catawba Memorial Park at a later date.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Trinity Village in the weeks to come.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Village or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Nell’s name.
