Ora Lee Howell Houk

ORA LEE HOWELL HOUK Icard - On March 8, 2015 heaven gained another angel by the name of Ora Lee Houk, 89 of Icard. Born November 24, 1925 in Ashe County to the late Tom and Ruth Howell. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. Ora Lee loved to cook, sew, and garden. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Lave L. Houk; son, Jerry Houk; sister, Viola Miller; and brothers, Gus Howell, Paul Howell, Charley Howell, and Clyde Howell. She leaves behind her children, Roger Houk and wife Prue of Morganton, Janet Ervin of Icard; grandchildren, Susie Lowman, Kellie Ervin and Darin Henley; great-grandchildren, Brandon Lowman, Matthew Lowman, Andrew Davis, and Trevor Davis; sister, Opal Stewart; and brother, James Howell and wife Lucy. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday 11, 2015 at 2 pm at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Joel Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
