Paul Jones Greenhill Sr.

HICKORY—Paul Jones Greenhill Sr., 79, of Hickory, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born September 20, 1937 in Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late John Anderson Greenhill and Martha Irene Berry Greenhill. He will be tremendously missed by his family and will be remembered as loving and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Paul also loved to camp and fish when he was able to. He was a graduate of Hildebran High School. Paul was able to spend 61 amazing years married to the love of his life, Joyce H. Greenhill. He dedicated 41 years of service at Pike Electric fulfilling many roles in the company including Supervisor. Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his daughter; Nancy Paulette Greenhill Gilbert and granddaughter; April Leigh Greenhill. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Joyce H. Greenhill of the home, a son; Paul Jones Greenhill Jr. and companion Carolyn Walker of Statesville, son-in-law; Douglas Wayne Gilbert of Connelly Springs, sister; Evelyn Hardin and husband Larry of Dobson, grandchildren; Chad Gilbert of Granite Falls, Melissa Gilbert Braniff and husband Jordan of Ocean City, MD, greatgrandchildren; Curtis Gilbert, Colton Gilbert, Cooper Gilbert, and Gavin Braniff. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 3 at 11:00am at Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45am.
