Mrs. Peggy Joyce Reynolds Gibson

MAIDEN - Peggy Joyce Gibson, 79 of Maiden went home to be with her Lord on July 13, 2014.

Born on November 23, 1934 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Kitty Reynolds. Joyce enjoyed quilting and spending time with her loving family and friends. She was a member of St. Matthews United Church of Christ in Maiden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Reynolds, Bill Reynolds, Gary Reynolds, and sister, Margaret Biggerstaff.

Survivors include a brother, T. J. Reynolds and wife Barbara of Maiden; sisters, Joan Campbell of Lincolnton, Diane Smith and husband Grady of Denver, Debbie Hyler and husband Jessie of Maiden; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special cat, Oliver.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 2 PM at St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ with Pastor Keith Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 PM at the Church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Joyce’s caregivers, Cindy, Tammy, and Debbie.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Matthews Building Fund.
