She was born July 17, 1941, in Pitt County, NC to the late Johnnie E. Spear and Mary Lee Parker Spear.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by sons, George Bowkley and Ricky Bowkley.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her longtime partner, John Chapman; son, Johnny Bowkley; daughters, Gloria Pearson and husband, Richard, Lois Fowler and husband, Joe, and Mary Humphries; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the residence of Gloria Pearson, 4541 Sulfer Springs Rd. NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
