Born August 21, 1948, in Boone, North Carolina, Phyllis moved to Hickory, NC, where she met her husband and began building a life devoted to those she loved. She worked for 40 years at Uniform Rental Company, a display of her commitment and strong work ethic in itself, after which she moved to Louisville, Kentucky and began working at Michael's craft store, her "fun" job, where she could get her hands on all the crafts time would allow!
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with family, above all else. Whether it was a trip to Hilton Head, the mountains, or simply sitting around the table sharing a good meal, she delighted in every moment. She loved all things colorful, and found joy in the little pleasures of life: shopping, playing bingo and cards with friends, watching NASCAR races on Sunday and snuggling up with her sweet pups, Lucy and Louie.
Those who knew Phyllis will remember her for her kind and colorful heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hedrick and husband Mark, and her grandchildren, McCall and Mason Hedrick. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Dagenhardt; her parents, Clinton and Betty Shook; and her sister, Tina Austin.
A Graveside Service will held at Catawba Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025 at 1:00 pm.

The Dagenhardt Family is under the care of Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations.
