She was born on November 15, 1923 to the late H.D. and Florence Giles Lail in Burke County. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, Polly is preceded in death by her husband Billy Paul Townsend and her son; Dennis Wayne Setzer.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Ronald M. Setzer and wife Nan of High Point, grandchildren; Andrew Ronald Setzer, Billy Wayne Setzer, and Tawnya Doak.
Services for Polly will be held on Monday January 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Hickory Funeral Home. The ministers of Highland Baptist Church will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Highland Baptist Church, 828 9th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
