Ralph Kelly Downs

Ralph was born October 15, 1932 in Cleveland Co. to the late Robbie and Eula Costner Downs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Downs.

He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where he had served in various roles. He was a truck driver for over 50 years, logging over 5 million miles.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Hedrick Downs, of Hickory, daughter, Sharon Downs, of Hickory, daughter, Karen Downs, of Hickory, son, Timothy Downs, of Bethlehem, grandson, Christopher Downs, of Hickory, grandson, Matthew Downs, of Hickory, granddaughter, Amber Downs, of Hickory, granddaughter, Samantha Downs, of Hickory, brother, Gary Downs, of Casar, sister, Dot Murray, of Anderson S.C., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, March 15, at 6:30 PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church with The Reverend Dr. William Seaman and Reverend Bob Stevens officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 14, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
