Ray McDonald Teague

Born in Alexander County, on May 2, 1934, he was the son of the late Charles and Pauline Teague.

In addition to his parents, his wife of 59 years, Thelma Abernathy Teague; son Michael Scott Teague; his brothers John Teague and Eugene Teague preceded him in death.

Ray was retired postmaster from Connelly Springs postal service, a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church; he enjoyed traveling with his late wife Thelma, and spending time with his family, especially at his home in Ocean Isle.

His daughters Debra T. Spencer and husband Kevin of Conover, and Robin T. Bumgarner and husband Gary of Newton; granddaughters Brandy Cline and husband Jeff of Ocean Isle, and Kasey Savage and husband Tim of Wake Forest; grandsons Chris Spencer and wife Emily of Sherrills Ford, and Ryan Spencer of Conover survive him. Great grandsons Cole Cline, Jay Cline, and Connor Cline of Ocean Isle, Barrett and James Spencer both of Sherrills Ford, Charlie and George Spencer of Conover; great granddaughters Collins Spencer of Sherrills Ford, Grace and Ellie Savage of Wake Forest also survive him.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 17, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Reverend Randall Cauble officiating.

Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
