Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County and the daughter of Joe
McCann and Lisa McRary McCann. Renee worked as the secretary and VP of MJM Recycling.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Merlene McRary, grandfather Ronnie McCann, and son Greyson Moretz.
Renee is survived by her husband, Matthew Moretz of the home and twin boys Greyson and Joseph. Parents Joe McCann and Lisa McRary McCann, sister Emily Lail and spouse Timothy Lail, loving nieces, adventurous nephews and countless cousins.
Renee loved to love on people. Her life was a living example of Proverbs 31:28-29. “Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also praises her, many women have done nobly, but you surpass them all.”
She was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She cherished and adored Matt from the time they first met at the young age of 10. For the past 19 years they built the most beautiful life together for them and the twins.
She treasured her boys and embraced every moment with them. She was truly the best mom, with the best snacks and biggest hugs. She did whatever it took to make sure they enjoyed life to the fullest.
Just like her Granny Merlene every store, restaurant, no matter where she went, people knew and loved Renee. Her caring spirit made everyone around her feel loved.
Spending time with her nieces, nephews and cousins brought her pure joy. She lived life to the fullest with the simplest of pleasures. From her love of shopping, which she got from her momma, to volunteering at Tabernacle, to planning the most elaborate parties and all the holiday festivities, she truly enjoyed life. Even her meticulous cleaning like her Granny Carolyn, brought her happiness.
As far as sisters go she was the best big sister to Emily. She was her first call for any big news. She would show up anytime she was needed and always one she could count on.
Anyone that knew Renee knew she was a Daddy's girl. Joe and her had a special bond that no one else could compare to.
There was no one that came across Renee's path that did not love her and enjoy spending time with her. She was the ultimate best friend to one and all.
