Richard Allen Broadwell

Hickory – Richard Allen Broadwell, 56 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2021.

Born on July 27, 1965 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Angus Broadwell and Shirley Huffman Nelson. Richie’s passion was music, the OBX, hiking in the mountains, firearm collecting and he was also an avid sports enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Broadwell.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Cynthia Dawn Broadwell; a daughter, Heather Collins and husband Brian and their children, Alaina and Liam. Four sons, Matthew and wife, Miranda and family, Ryan and wife, Hannah and family, Justin and wife, Nani and family; two brothers, Carroll Huffman and Billy Broadwell and children.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association and The National Foundation to End Child Abuse and Neglect in Richard’s name.
