

HICKORY----Richard Max Triplett, 83, passed away January 17, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice after a period of declining health.Max was born August 29, 1930 in Caldwell Co. to the late Carson Stevenson and Mabel Travis Triplett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Jack and Adrian Triplett and two sisters, Margaret Jones and Janice Thomas.He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, veteran of the Korean Conflict served in the U. S. Navy, member of American Legion Post #48 and retired from Shuford Mills as plant manager.Surviving are his wife, Jeri Pritchard Triplett of the home; daughters, Lynne Jenkins of Newton and Amy Triplett and Scott Malone of Riva, Maryland; step son, Michael L. Holman of Tacoma, WA; granddaughters, Erin Leigh Setzer of Newton and Billie Nicole Jenkins of Conover; grandson, Aidan Malone of Riva, MD; great grandsons, Kaden Pennel and Jullien Pennel both of Newton, and a sister, Helen Correll of Lenoir. Funeral services will be held on Monday January 20, 2014 in the chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with the Reverend Kim Dowell officiating.Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Military honors conducted by American Legion Post #48.The family will receive friends on Monday January 20, 2014 from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.Condolences may be made online at www.hickoryfh.com.Hickory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
