HICKORY – Robert Columbus Caldwell, 69 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on January 25th, 2024.
Robert was born on March 25, 1954 in Catawba County, to the late Thomas M. and Minnie Ruth Kerr Caldwell. God gifted Robert with many talents of all types of construction and woodworking. He loved being home in his basement creating new projects.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Caldwell Letts and his favorite nephew, Thomas Wayne Caldwell.
Left to cherish his memory is his soulmate, Sandy Caldwell; sons, Josh McDowell and wife Chantae, Robert Dusty Caldwell, Robert A. Caldwell; 4 grandchildren, brother, Thomas M. Caldwell Jr. and wife Vicki; sister, Tammy Jean Caldwell Hollar; and numerous other family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, February 1st, 2024 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Josh McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 2 PM at the funeral home.
