Rosalie Anna Greenhill

Rosalie was born August 2, 1932 in Burke Co. to the late Luico and Eva Padgett Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dixie Hildebran and Ora Van Horn; her brothers Cletus Young, Cromer Young, Virgil Young, Harley Young and Burl Young.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Greenhill , Sr. of the home; sons Harold Greenhill and wife Debbie of Hildebran and Leonard Greenhill, Jr. and wife, Toni of Hickory; daughter, Kathy Greenhill Delgatti and husband, Michael of Hickory; granddaughters, Olivia Greenhill of Hickory, Lauren Greenhill of Roanoke Rapids, Lillie Greenhill of Hickory and Taylor Delgatti of Hickory; grandsons, Bobby Greenhill of Hickory and Chase Delgatti of Hickory; sister, Lucille Wilson of Hickory and many nieces and nephews.

Rosalie was a member of Wilkies Grove Baptist Church of Hickory where she sang in the choir. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. Through the years she worked in the hosiery industry, drove a school bus, enjoyed music, singing and playing the piano, but her most precious times were spent with her family.

Rosalie was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening and pickling for many years. Her pickles became well known in many counties.

She loved her Lord and lived her faith daily. Her smile and laugh were contagious and she brought joy to many lives over the years.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the administration, nurses, and staff of Carolina Rehab for the loving care they have given Rosalie for the past three years. We thank you with all our hearts.

Services Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. at Wilkies Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Bryant and Rev. Terry Adkins officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers serving are, Randy Young, Wayne Young, Chase Delgatti, Eddie Fulbright, Chris Graham, Dana Matthews, and Bobby Greenhill.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
