Royd Marshall Bowman

Royd was born January 4, 1932 in Caldwell Co. to the late Willard Lee and Bertha Starnes Bowman.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother Norman Bowman.

He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, Korean War veteran served in the US Army , a Mason Hickory Lodge #343 and retired from General Electric.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Kaylor Bowman of the home, two daughters Debbie Davis and husband, Mark of Taylorsville, Sandy Goble of Brentwood, TN, two sons, Randy Bowman and wife, Michelle of Douglasville, GA, Jimmy Bowman and wife Julia of Charlotte, NC, ten grandchildren, Cassandra Goble, Andrea Goble, Nicole Davis, Whitney Bowman, Hannah Bowman, Carlie Bowman, Sophia Bowman, Hunter Bowman, Taylor Davis and Christopher Bowman, a brother, Talmage Bowman and wife, Mary of Bethlehem, a sister, Doris Ann Carrigan and husband Glenn of Bethlehem and a sister-in-law, Martha Bowman of Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11,2012 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Stephen T. Johnson and the Reverend Neil Bowman officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday October 11, 2012 from 2:30 PM until 3:45 PM at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
