Sadie Rae Dunn

HICKORY----Heaven’s gates opened and our Savior received Sadie Rae Rawl Dunn into everlasting life on Friday, October 21, 2016. Born Sadie Rae Rawl on June 28, 1932 in Columbia, SC to the late Jasper Franklin and Sadie Mae Langford Rawl. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Karl U. Dunn; two brothers O’Neil Rawl and Franklin Rawl. Sadie graduated from University of South Carolina in 1954. She taught 20 plus years in Lincoln County schools. A lover of music, she served as the church organist in support of her husband’s parishes and played the piano for Trinity Village. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Crawford and husband Jeff of Acworth, GA, Christine DiFeliciantonio and husband Stephen of Columbus, GA, Mary Mauney and husband Richard of Asheville, and Karla Bolch and husband Tim of Hickory; her grandchildren Brad Crawford and wife Jessica of Canton, GA, Justin and Nicholas DiFeliciantonio both of Columbus GA, John and James Mauney both of Asheville, Alex Bolch of Hickory, Lauren Crawford of California, and Mary Bolch of Hickory; two great grandchildren Anabelle Crawford and Lawson Crawford both of Canton, GA.; a sister Caroline Rawl LaTorre of Hickory and a sister-in-law Carol Rawl of Fort Myers FL. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 3:00pm at Unity Lutheran Church with Reverend John Woodard and Dr. Reverend Robert Allen.

Burial will follow at St. Stephens Lutheran ELCA cemetery. Memorials may be made to Unity Lutheran Church 3025 Falling Creek Road NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
