

Selma Louise Bolick Huffman, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Catawba Regional Hospice, after a period of declining health. Selma was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Catawba County, to the late Everette Charles and Geanie McNeely Bolick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Elvin Huffman Sr.; sister, Wanda Herman; and niece, Peggy Herman. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Mo Synod, where she was a Sunday school teacher, for many years, a member of Ladies Aid and retired from Belk Broome. Surviving are her sons, Ronald Huffman, of Hickory and Ralph Huffman Jr. and wife, Anita, of Hickory; special son, Duane Brayboy, of Hickory; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson; brother, Charles Bolick and wife, Melissa, of Hickory; sister, Macile Herman. of Atlanta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be Friday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Mo Synod, with the Revs. David Guelzow and David Ziehr officiating.
