Timie Joe Barker

Timie was born on May 15, 1958, in Jamestown, Tennessee. After High School, he joined the US Army.

Joe married Barbara Ramseur on March 26,1988. During their 38 years of marriage, they had one child, Christy LaShay Barker, which Barbara was not able to carry her full term. Joe was able to enjoy one stepdaughter, Evelyn “Shante” Ramseur; 3 grandsons, Lamont’e Ramseur, Ladamain Ramseur, and Rishawn Ramseur, and 2 great grandsons, Ja’tay Ramseur, and Ja’kari Ramseur.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents James Carl Barker and Mary Lee Atkins Barker, his brothers Dannie Dale Barker, Jeffery Allen Barker, and Keith Karl Barker, and nephew Eric Duncan Barker Allen.

Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara Ramseur Barker; his sisters, Karla K. Barker Allen (Dana) and Debra Barker Travis (Tony); his nieces, Brandy Barker, Alexis Travis, Willow Allen, and Ivy Allen; his nephews, Kyle Barker, Bradley Barker, Warren Allen, Devon Allen (Diana), and Tony Travis (Dawn), along with his stepdaughter and her kids and grandkids.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 2025, at 2:00 pm at Catawba Funeral Home in Hickory, followed by the rendering of military honors.
