Tobias William Slager

May 1, 2025, Tobias William Slager “Toby” tragically passed away in his home at the age of 20. He was born in Bradenton, Florida, but most recently, called Taylorsville, North Carolina his home. He graduated from Tarheel Challenge Academy of New London, North Carolina at the age of 16.

Toby loved to write songs and sing, always having a song in his heart. He also loved playing “Magic the Gathering” with his friends. Toby was passionate about the color yellow and the Dutch pastry banket.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Randy ” Papa” McGowen. Those in his family devastated by his passing are his mother, Erin Peters; father, Christian Slager; bonus mother, Maria Slager; and bonus parent, Tanaye Goehring. His siblings include Oliver Slager, Nolan Slager, and Henry Slager; along with bonus siblings Michaela Schaefer (Samuel Schaefer), and Joseph Becker. He was also loved by his grandparents, Susan McGowen, Marilyn Wolfe and Larry Wolfe along with many extended family members.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, details of which are available by contacting family.

Toby had a selfless heart and would have wanted all donations to go to National Alliance of Mental Health or American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
