TONY ALLEN HUGHES HICKORY – Tony Allen Hughes of Hickory, NC went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2017. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of Geneva Hughes Geouge and step-father, Knox Geouge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Payne Hughes and a sister, Linda Kay Geouge.
Survivors include his adopted daughter, Courtney Hughes of Morganton, NC; two brothers, Kenneth and Dean Geouge of Bakersville, NC; one aunt Betty Jean Perkins of Hickory, NC; two uncles, Brown Hughes and wife Gladys of Micaville, NC and Tood Hughes of Burnsville, NC; two nephews, Anthony Geouge of Spruce Pine, NC and Kenny Geouge, Jr of Hudson, NC; two nieces, Crystal Banks of Spruce Pine and Lisa Riddle of Bakersville, NC; numerous cousins and friends and special friend Betty Archer.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Catawba Funeral Home at 12 PM with Pastor Doug Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:30 – 12:00.
