Mr. Tony W. Johnson

TONY WILLIAM JOHNSON HICKORY – Tony William Johnson 50, passed away on August 4, 2015. He was born on December 8, 1964 in Catawba County to the late Ronald William and Louise Breeden Johnson. Tony was a member of Christ Church Northside. He was a loving husband, a devoted Paw Paw, and friend to all who knew him. Tony was a truck driver and mechanic for many years and he had a passion for race cars. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed coaching his children and grandkids. Tony’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Teresa Johnson; children, Derek Lane McAdams and partner Heather Lemacks of Hickory, Christi Faye McAdams and partner Heath Johnston of Hickory; grandchildren, Tyler, Ellie, Corbin, Alexander, Liam, Gage; brothers, Roy Johnson of Hickory, Keith Johnson and wife Cathy of Hickory; sister, Cathy Eckerd and husband Neil of Hickory; brother-in-law, Ricky Cooke and partner Pam Adkins of Hickory; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 6 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Harley Scalf officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Northside, 3750 N. Center Street, Hickory, NC 28601.
