Trace Paul Childers

Roderfield – Trace Paul Childers, 39 of Hickory, NC passed away on March 23, 2019 at his home. Trace worked at Childers Auto Trim for 15 years and had a passion for dirt track racing and won the championship race at Cleveland County in 2008. He loved working as a mechanic and installing stereos.

Born on March 21, 1980 in Catawba County, Trace was the son of Paul and Jearldine Childers.

Trace was preceded in death by is his great grandmother, Bertha Hendren; grandmother, Nelda Hefner; grandfather, Garwood Childers and Earl Hefner; cousin, Rodney Hefner.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Michelle Green Childers; son, T. J. Childers, daughter, Carlie Childers; parents, Paul and Jearldine Childers; grandmother, Betty Wilcox; siblings, Travis Childers and wife Jackie, Nikki Childers Walton and husband Josh, Michelle Childers Andrade and husband Jose; nephew, Tristian Childers; nieces, Jacinda, Arianna, Trinity and MaShay; great nephew, Daylon and numerous other family members and special furry friend, Daisy Mae.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Catawba Funeral Home at 2:00 pm.

The Childers family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
