Vina Lee Townsend

Vina was born February 20, 1940 in Cleveland Co. to the late Carl R. Lail and Pauline Walker Lail Townsend.

She was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Banner Elk.

Surviving are her husband, Boyd M. Townsend of the home, her daughter, Jenny Elizabeth Piercy and husband, Garry of Hickory, her son, Jason Townsend and wife, Sonya, granddaughters, Kaitlyn P. Townsend and Amberly R. Townsend both of Hickory, grandsons, Joshua Piercy and Connor Townsend both of Hickory, step granddaughter, Elizabeth ward of Lumberton, NC and a step grandson, Michael Ward of Lumberton, NC, brothers, Henry Lail and wife, Mary of Hildebran, George Lail and wife, Cindy of Atlanta, GA and Dwight Lail and wife, Jeanne of Hickory and a sister, Faye Townsend of Hickory.

Services will be Friday, November 4, 2011 at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Banner Elk at 2:00 PM with Reverend John Bollinger and Vicar Laura Weant officiating.

The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
