Virginia Dare Maines Brown, 90 of Conover went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Born on July 19, 1933 in Alleghany County, NC, Virginia was the daughter of the late Luther and Bonnie Blanche Reeves Maines. Virginia had a talent for sewing and enjoyed making quilts. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband, William Brown; 2 brothers, J.R. Maines and wife, Helen, and Hoover Maines and wife, Sadie.
Those left to cherish her memory include, a sister, Louise Clearly, as well as, special friends and caregivers, Angela and Rodney Woody.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Peggy Stout officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ of Conover in Virginia’s name.
