MORGANTON – Vivian Ann Woody, 82 of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born on June 13, 1942 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Arthur and Drexel Deaton Singleton. Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She loved life, everything from working in her garden, canning, quilting, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Woody Spears; great-granddaughter, Lily Hollifield; siblings, Patsy Vance, Bill Singleton, and Eddie Singleton.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, Scott Woody; children, Theresa Berry and husband JB, Jeff Woody (Bubba) and wife Teresa Webb; grandchildren, Kasey Holsonback and husband Jay, Ben Smith, Dustin Berry and wife Carolina, Anna Berry, Mindy Woody; great-grandchildren, Preston Berry, Lathan Smith, Tanner Berry, Natalie Ross, Mollie Ross; Luke Hollifield; siblings, Roger Singleton and wife Darlene, Peggy Johnson and husband Frank, Tiny Bartlett; family friend, Sherrie York and husband Jerry and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 11 AM at Benfield Cemetery in Newland, NC with Jerry York officiating.
