Wayne Ephram Bowman, 84 of Connelly Springs, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April18th, 2026, at UNC Health Blue Ridge surrounded by his family.
Born on July 16th, 1941, in Alexander County, NC, Wayne was the son of the late Mosie Bowman and Mano Isenhour Bowman. Wayne was a master carpenter and woodworker as well as an avid gem and mineral collector. He loved the mountains. In his younger days, he enjoyed rock climbing, hiking and playing baseball. Wayne was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Clayton Bowman and Allen Bowman and his son-in-law, Murdoch Morrison.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Richardson and husband, Cameron; his son, Alex Bowman and fiancé, Julie Rudisill and his daughter, Jennifer (Jennie) Dey and husband, Brian; his brother, Jerry Bowman and his granddaughter, Bailey Richardson.
A "come as you are gathering" will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 at Houk's Chapel at 1741 Ninth Street, NW Hickory, within Fairview Cemetery at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hickory Landmark Society or American Cancer Society in Wayne’s name.
