Born in Newport News, VA on December 18, 1957, he was the son of the late William Andrew Stafford Sr. and Martha Eckard Bowman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Darrell Stafford and a sister Mary Wiggins.
Survivors include his son James Andrew Stafford; sisters Barbara Patterson and husband Bryan , Clara Stafford, Betty Sue Shook and her husband Stevie, and Carolyn Yelton; and mother of his son Aleta Stafford.
