William Albert “Sonny” Tucker 77, of Granite Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Frye Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health. He retired from the C.R. Laine Furniture Company.
He was born June 30, 1941 and was the son of the late Edna Mae Teague Tucker, Clyde Tucker and step father Edgar Tucker.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Dellinger Tucker and brother Ronnie Tucker.
Survivors include, daughters, Tammy Wright and husband Paul, Wanda Hamby and husband Jimmy: son, Gary Tucker: grandchildren, Micah Yarbrough and wife Melissa, Jonathan Deal, Aaron and Chandler Hamby; great grandchildren, Ciara, Gracie and Landon Yarbrough and Jonathan Deal, Jr. Also surviving one sister, Shirley Hudson and two brothers, Floyd Tucker and Donnie Tucker. Numerous other loved family members.
A Funeral Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home Friday, January 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastors Kenneth Hudson and Ricky Hudson with burial to follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 1: 45 pm prior to the service.
