

Audrey Olive Whaley was born at Brunswick Hospital in Amityville NY, to Milton and Olive Allen Whaley on January 27, 1932. Audrey had an older brother, Milton Allen Whaley (deceased) and a younger sister, Betty Jean Whaley Seiz (deceased). She is survived by her son Donald (Don) Ramme, his wife Beth, both of Huntington NY, and grandchildren Allison, Manhattan NY, Colleen, Nashville TN, Bryan, Delhi NY, and Caroline, Rhinebeck NY. Audrey is also survived by her three nephews Craig (Christine) Whaley, Bruce (Lisa) Whaley, Scott (Leslie) Whaley, and their families. Audrey was raised on a 44 acre farm in Bethpage NY (now Plainedge NY) and graduated from Farmingdale NY High School. Her father Milton, sold the farm and went to work at Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation in 1941, at Bethpage NY, where Audrey and her two siblings were also employed. Audrey married Donald Raymond Ramme, a Nassau County Police Officer, on January 30, 1955, and moved to her current home in Plainview NY, where she resided until her passing. Donald Robert entered the world two years later. Audrey returned to the work force in the early 1970s, working for the Raymond Fellman architectural firm in Amityville NY. She then worked full time for Snug Harbor Condominiums, Amityville NY, as the office manager, until her retirement in 2021, at the age of 89. Audrey continued to be sharp as a tack, right up until the end, and enjoyed retirement by reading and enjoying her family. May she rest in peace. A Memorial visitation will occur on Monday February 17th from 2:00PM - 5:00PM. Entombment of ashes will take place on Tuesday February 18th from 11:30AM to 12:00PM at Calverton National Cemetery.
