

It is with profound sadness that the family of Hector Javier Collazo announces his unexpected passing on July 8, 2025, at the age of 60. His sudden departure has left those who loved him deeply shocked and heartbroken. Born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, Hector was predeceased by his father, Francisco; his mother, Benedicta; and his beloved son, Angelo. He is survived by his devoted wife, Angie; his two brothers, Lou (Debbie) and Frankie (Natalie); and his cherished nieces and nephews: Lydia, Emily, Samantha, and Frankie.
Hector’s absence is profoundly felt by his extended family and the countless lives he touched. Known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and ever-present laughter, Hector had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His famous catch phrases, love of cars, and signature laugh brought joy to every gathering.
Affectionately nicknamed “the Mayor” by many, Hector’s wide-reaching connections and natural charisma made him a beloved figure in his community. His legacy is one of love, generosity, and enduring warmth.
He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.
Visitation services will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, located at 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY, 11801, on July 13, 2025. The visitation will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Interment will occur at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY, 11735, on July 14, 2025. The family will gather at the funeral home at 9:00 am, and a funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 am. The interment will take place from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.
