Katherine A. Walsh

Katherine was born on September 29, 1942 to Loretta (Healy) and John Dwyer in Queens, New York where she lived a fast paced city girl lifestyle.

Katherine attended Bishop McDonnell all girls High School in Brooklyn, graduating in 1960.

She continued her studies in Elementary Education at Queens College, as well as receiving her master’s degree in accounting and auditing from Adelphi University. After graduating she had a fulfilling career working as an independent consultant in Defense Contract Auditing.

In 1964 Katherine met the love of her life, Dennis Walsh to whom she was married for 55 years before his passing in 2019. Katherine and Dennis had one child, Dennis Walsh, who grew their family to include two beautiful granddaughters, Amy and Savannah Walsh.

Traveling, shopping, and staying connected with her friends and family was how she enjoyed spending her time. Katherine was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy and a proud member of St. Pius X Senior Club. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage.

Katherine was predeceased by her husband Dennis T. Walsh, her son Dennis Walsh and her parents Loretta and John Dwyer. She is survived by her granddaughters, Amy and Savannah Walsh, her daughter-in-law Tracey Walsh, her sister Patricia Kislowski and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation for Katherine will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801. A visitation will occur Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 500 S Oyster Bay Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801. A graveside service will occur Friday, July 12, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
