Lena Monteiro

Lena Monteiro passed away peacefully the morning of February 10th. She was 93 years young. Born on August, 20th 1929, she grew up in Bronx, New York with her two sisters and brother. In 1963, she moved to Levittown with her husband, Alfred Monteiro. They were happily married for 53 years. They raised their two children, Elizabeth and William in their lovely home.

Her life was well-lived as a loving wife, mother, grandmother (to Erica) and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was seeing her great grandchildren, Olivia and Madelyn grow-up. She also loved dancing, live music, cards, church and enjoying time with family and friends. The local senior center was the source of many amazing times, dear friends and fun memories.

She will now join her beloved husband in heaven. She always found comfort in God and I know he welcomed her with a warm embrace. May we honor and celebrate her beautiful life today and always.

A visitation for Lena will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 Old Country Rd, Hicksville, New York 11801. A visitation will occur Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 125 Old Country Rd, Hicksville, New York 11801. A funeral mass will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. James R.C. Church, 80 Hicksville Rd., Seaford, NY 11783. An interment will occur Friday, February 17, 2023 at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, New York 11933.
