

Born in Corona, Queens, Roy made his home in Bethpage, New York, where he built a life rooted in strength, integrity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Roy proudly served in the New York City Police Department, where his bravery, dedication, and selflessness earned him the department’s highest honor—the Medal of Honor.
Roy was deeply devoted to his wife, Claire, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together they raised three children—Michael, Denise, and Michelle—His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Julia, Olivia, Michael, Emily, Laila, and Lilliana. “Pop Pop” was their hero.
Roy’s life was a testament to service, sacrifice, and family. He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but for how he lived—with loyalty, laughter, and a love that left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed.
Visitation services will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, located at 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY, 11801, on July 9, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on July 10, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 500 S Oyster Bay Rd, Hicksville, NY, 11801, on July 11, 2025, at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY, 11735, on July 11, 2025.
