Bailey was born in Stokes County, August 24, 1932, a son of the late Luz James and Daisy Mae Mabe James. He was an Army combat veteran of the Korea conflict and retired from Crescent Ford after many years of service. Bailey enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, UNC sports and family cookouts.
Surviving are a daughter, Christal Horner and husband Scott; two sons, Clay James and Keith James and wife Cindy; a sister, Addie Southern; two brothers, Robert James and wife Leatrice and Marion James; four grandchildren, Brittany James, Kaley James, Chasity and husband Kiefer Knight and Ashlyn Horner; and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Bailey’s Life will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by family friend, Mike Bullins. The family will receive friends at Davis Funerals and Cremations, Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.
