

Born January 8, 1924 she was the only child of the late J. Ralph Millikan and Eva Brackett Millikan. Dot was also predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Limon Monroe Hodgin, by two sons Craig and Gary, by stillborn twin daughters, Alicia and Patricia and by her maternal Aunt “Second Mom” Kate Brackett Cashatt.
Dot is survived by two granddaughters Paige L. Hodgin of Rock Hill, SC; Sherry L. Hodgin of Pineville, NC; three great-grandchildren Payne Hodgin Russell, Darby Ragin Russell and Katelyn Eva Acitelli. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Deloris Harris Hodgin of Charlotte, NC.and a sister-in-law Josphine Hodgin Williams of Greensboro, NC.
Dot’s life was devoted to her family and the Jamestown community. She was an active long-time member of Jamestown United Methodist Church. She loved traveling, reading, solving crossword puzzles and enjoying a yummy banana split. She particularly treasured the family’s time-honored annual beach week.
Thanks go to Dot’s friends and church members who faithfully visited her, the staff at High Point Place Assisted Living, personal caregiver Peggy Byerly and to Hospice of the Piedmont. Special gratitude goes to her dear friend Lib Sechrest for her constant love and devotion through the fun times and the difficult times. She brought Dot many smiles.
The funeral service will be Saturday, 2:00pm, May 11, 2013 at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Avenue in High Point with family visitation an hour before the service. Interment at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jamestown United Methodist Church, 403 East Main St., Jamestown, NC 27282 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
