

Elna Bridges Hodges age 82 of High Point, NC died Monday September 8, 2014 at her home. Elna was born April 30, 1932 to Sgt. Maj. Cecil Clifton Bridges and Elna Parrish Bridges and had on sister, Marilyn Bridges Willett.
Elna graduated from Sanford Central High School and Rex Hospital School of Nursing, in Raleigh, NC. On April 13, 1957 Elna married Benjamin F. Hodges, Jr. of Washington, NC and they made their residence in Greenville, NC. They moved from Greenville, NC to Lexington, NC and later to High Point , NC. Elna worked as a Nurse at Presbyterian Home, in High Point until her retirement. She volunteered at Hospice in High Point until her death.
Elna is survived by her daughter, Kimberly H. Black, husband Richard E. Black Jr., grandsons Grayson Parrish Black, and David Earl Black; Son, Benjamin Franklin Hodges III, wife Teresa Swann Hodges, grandsons Benjamin F. Hodges IV, Robert Brandon Hodges; son David M. Hodges, wife Colleen Lindsey Hodges, grandsons Matthew James Hodges, and Colin Baker Hodges.
Elna was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her beloved husband, Benjamin.
Elna was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of High Point, NC up until her passing.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 13, 2014, 2:00pm at the Wesley Memorial UMC Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service in the Asbury Room.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wesley Memorial UMC or Hospice Home of High Point.
