
Born January 2, 1924 in Charleston, South Carolina. Died January 16, 2013 at age 89 in her beloved home.
A daughter to the late Marie Carey Ilderton and Horace Greely Ilderton, a sister to the late H. G. Ilderton and mother to two deceased infant sons.
She was married for 63 years to John (Jack) Hardin Rochelle in 1947 who preceded her in death.
She was an active member in many civic and cultural affairs in High Point. She was a long time member of the Hospital Guild, a Blue Lady Volunteer and Board Member of Pennybyrn at Maryfield. A member of the Junior League of High Point, Board member of the Carousel Theatre, a member of the High Point Debutante Club, the High Point Country Club and the String and Splinter Club. She was a superior bridge player and will miss all her bridge friends and her Century Study Club friends. Her most important volunteerism was to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the Melbourne Beach Catholic Church.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. Her surviving daughters are; Ashley R. Culler and husband Braxton, Julie Rochelle- Stephens, Rose Marie Boone and husband Lee. Her grandchildren,who loved their “Dodie”, are Kimberly C. Combs, R. Braxton Culler IV (Brack) and wife Caroline, John Rochelle Culler (Josh). Spencer Boone, Jackson Boone, Caroline Boone all of High Point. Maya Rochelle Stephens, Mariah Rochelle Stephens, Taylor Gilfillan and husband Mark of Portland, Oregon. Seven great grandchildren; Ashley Anne Combs, Culler Combs, Roy Braxton Culler V (Quinn), Gloria E. Culler, Libby R. Culler, Alexander and Nathan Gilfillan and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly.
Her most endearing and faithful family members are her brothers; Carey Ilderton Sr. and wife Eleanor, Clarence Ilderton Jr. and wife Wanda.
She was the true Matriarch and lady of a loving family. She always reminded us “ It is not about the “dying” it is about the “living”.

Services will be Saturday, January 19 at 10:00 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Johnson Street. Family will receive friends after the service in the vestibule.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the interment at Oakwood Memorial Park on Montlieu Avenue.
