Jane Elizabeth Hart

Mrs. Hart was born March 13, 1942 to the late Francis Everett Chory and Bannah Mae Becknell Chory. She was raised in Elizabeth City and graduated from Elizabeth City High School. Trained as a bookkeeper, she spent most of her adult life residing with her husband in High Point. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Always fun to be around, she enjoyed painting, collecting antiques, gardening, and spending time with her granddaughter. She was loved, and she will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. “Boy” Hart, Jr., as well as her 3 older siblings, Ann Chory, Wirth Chory, and Wesley Chory.

She is survived by her daughter Debra Hart-Schendell and her beloved granddaughter Julia Morgan Schendell, both of High Point. She also leaves nieces, nephews, step-children and numerous close friends.

A Celebration of Jane’s life will be held at the First United Methodist Church Chapel on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 2 pm by the Rev. Dr. Chris Fitzgerald. The family will visit with friends immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Hospice of the Piedmont.
