Jeanne Isabelle Montgomery

She was born in High Point on June 6, 1929, daughter of the late William P. Montgomery and Edith Oliver Montgomery.

Jeanne was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of High Point. Music was her passion and her life, in 1971 Jeanne graduated with her master’s degree in music from UNCG. In 1991 she retired from Thomasville City Schools after 40 and a half years of teaching music. In 1997 the High Point Community Concert Association awarded her with the Volunteer of the year award. She was also a gold sister with the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.

Surviving are her brother Ben Montgomery; niece Beth Stewart (Steve); nephew Michael Montgomery (Mary); great niece Sarah Stewart; great nephew, Alex Stewart and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 13, 2017 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Guilford Memorial Park.
